If you’re planning a trip to the island of Koh Phangan, Panviman Resort is where you need to stay. This hotel is what dreams are made of.
No trip to Thailand is complete without visiting the island of Koh Phangan, but where do you stay once you get there? I’ve stayed at multiple hotels on the island and can promise you that Panviman Resort is the place to be.
This hotel has everything you could ask for from ocean views, immaculate accommodations, all-ages activities, and delectable dining.
After reading about this hotel, you won’t want to stay anywhere else.
This post is all about Panviman Resort Koh Phangan.
Panviman Resort – Koh Phangan
Location
Panviman Resort is a stunning property located on the northeast side of Koh Phangan. This is a more secluded side of the island, allowing for privacy and tranquility. The island itself is not extremely large, so any side can be accessed within an hour from any direction. The resort sits between two bays, with beach accessibility at Thong Nai Pan Bay. This crescent-shaped cove is home to only a few hotels, allowing guests to have an almost private beach experience.
Transportation
Considering there is no airport on Koh Phangan, you may be wondering how to access this resort. First, it starts with taking a flight to Samui International Airport on the island of Koh Samui. Both Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways fly in and out of this airport and offer multiple flights a day. Once you get to Koh Samui, you will then need to take a boat over to Koh Phangan. Depending on your budget, you can take the local ferry or a speedboat provided by the resort.
Panviman Speedboat: If you choose to book directly with Panviman Resort and take their speedboat to the hotel, they will provide a van service to take you to their private pier where you will wait in their lounge while they get you checked in for the ride over. You’ll be greeted with a welcome drink, while your luggage is carried and loaded on the boat. From there, the boat ride over is around 40 minutes to the hotel’s private pier. Concierge service will handle your luggage until you check in and arrive at your room. I truly feel like this is the best option and is worth the little extra bit of money for the convenience. It cost 1,500 Baht ($44 US Dollars) per guest with two trips leaving to and from the island each day.
Private Speedboat: You are also able to rent out the entire speedboat for 12,000 Baht ($350 US Dollars) for up to eight guests. If you rent out the entire speedboat, you will be greeted with champagne and charcuteries on board. You will also be able to choose the exact time the boat leaves to pick you up or drop you off. This experience is great for a large group or guests who enjoy ultimate flexibility on their time.
Ferry: The main port on Koh Samui is Na Thon Pier with access over to Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan. This ferry ride will last around 45 minutes and will cost you around $10 US Dollars. Unfortunately, Thong Sala Pier is on the other side of the island from Panviman Resort and will require you to take a shuttle or taxi to the hotel.
Shuttle: Panviman offers a shuttle to and from Thong Sala Pier twice a day. The ride is around 40-45 minutes long through the winding jungle. The shuttle leaves from the hotel to the pier at 9:30am & 3pm and from the pier to the hotel at 1:10pm & 6:10pm. The shuttle costs 300 Baht (9 US Dollars) per guest.
Private Shuttle: Panviman does offer the option of a private shuttle. This shuttle can hold up to four guests and can leave at whatever time you’d like. It costs 1,600 Baht ($47 US Dollars)
Taxi: An abundance of taxis will be available to you at the pier. The taxis here can be hard to negotiate at times and will definitely try to overcharge you since this trip will be to the other side of the island. Most likely the price will range around 800-1,000 Baht ($23-$30 US Dollars).
